New Web Site Launched!
Yes at long last we have completed the design and launch of our new website. We moved from a .NET based site that wasn’t so easy to change to a new WordPress site. This is now very easy to keep up to date, is responsive so that it looks great on mobile devices and is more SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) friendly.
I’d like to say a big thanks to all the folks at Lynda.com as we found their tutorials on WordPress really helpful and in particular the ones by Morten Rand-Hendriksen, especially the ones below.
- WordPress Essential Training
- WordPress Plugins: SEO
- WordPress Plugins: Moving WordPress with WP Migrate DB
The Writing for the Web tutorial by Chris Nodder(@uxgrump) was invaluable when structuring the text that we used in the site, describing in detail how to deliver our message.
Our old web site was hosted on a Windows Server but we switched to a Linux server that we rent from OVH who we have used for a number of years. They are a very reliable and competitive web hosting company and we use them for a number of our clients now who don’t necessarily need Windows based systems.
Once the site was live we then made sure it was talking to Google Analytics and don’t forget to use their Webmaster tools to continue to tweak you web site’s presence on the web.
If you would like us to create a site for you then please do not hesitate to contact us.
